Paul Phillips
Paul Phillips is a highly accomplished competitive shooter and firearms expert with over 30 years of law enforcement and military experience. He served as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps and earned a combat action ribbon. Paul also served in a scout sniper platoon and concluded his military career as the chief instructor of Combat Motorcycle School.
After his service, Paul attended Michigan State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and winning the 1996 NRA Long Range Collegiate National Championship. He then graduated at the top of his class in the FBI sniper school and went on to win over 21 Gold Medals as a member of the World Championship, America Match, and National NRA Championship teams. Paul has over 40 National shooting records to his name and earned his International Distinguished Shooting Badge #19. He received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman John Moolenaar in 2019.
Paul is the founder of Global Precision Group LLC, a consulting and training company, and his shooting team, Team Global Precision Group, continues to lead the way in precision and extreme long-range shooting.
Paul served as the adjutant of the US Rifle Team and is a 3-time World Champion with Team USA. He is a 10-time National Champion with Team Sinclair.
Paul placed 1st in the King of 2 Miles in 2016 with Team Applied Ballistics, where he served as a coach and spotter for Mitch Fitzpatrick, and the King of 2 Miles in 2017, where he served as a wind coach and spotter for Derek Rodgers.
In 2018, with John Droelle and Bill Gravatte spotting, Paul won the NRA ELR National Championship, and one year later, in 2019, Paul won the heavy class category with David Tubb as spotter. Paul supplied equipment and expertise to help GPG teammate Ray Gross win the same year in the light class category.
In the King of 2 Miles in 2019, Paul won the coveted crown carrying the banner of Team GPG. His teammates Derek Rodgers came in 3rd, and Mark Lonsdale 4th out of 80 shooters. In 2022, Paul won the Spearpoint Finale in the ELR Light Class, with Shane and Jaclyn Brian spotting. The same year, Paul's Team GPG shooters Clay Rhoden and Ray Gross placed 1st and 2nd, respectively, out of over 90 shooters in the King of 1 Mile. With this victory by Team GPG, they solidified their status as the only ELR team to have claimed the highly-regarded King of 2 Miles and King of 1 Mile crowns.
Paul is currently ranked #1 in the World for the King of 1 Mile Global Ranking.
